PROSPERING IN TRUTH

DEVOTIONAL-GRAPHIC-1600x900_108_Revised

“Beloved friend, I pray that you are prospering in every way and that you continually enjoy good health, just as your soul is prospering. I was filled with joy and delight when the brothers arrived and informed me of your faithfulness to the truth. They told me how you live continually in the truth of Christ. It is the greatest joy of my life to hear that my children are consistently living their lives in the ways of truth!”

3 John 1:2-4 (TPT)

God desires to pour out His glory in greater measure than ever before. He desires to see us prosper in all areas of our lives – in our soul, in our physical bodies, in our families, in our schools, in our workplaces and throughout our communities.

Prosperity that comes from God doesn’t just stop at finances. What good is it to have abundance in our finances but have lack in our health, strife and bitterness in our homes, or unrest in mind and emotions? Our prosperity depends on how much thought, study and attention we determine to give to God’s Word in our lives daily. Are we willing to give the Bible first place in our heart? When we truly realize what the Word of God can do and will do, we will want to immerse ourselves in it continually. And as we do, we see how God has set us up for ongoing abundance.

So how do we do that? We choose to be single-minded and seek God (not seek attention, pity or justification from others, especially on our social media…yes, you all know what I mean). We choose to rise up and do what Matthew 6:33 (AMPC) says, “Seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.”

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
God delights in our prosperity (Psalm 35:27)! Merriam-Webster’s dictionary defines prosperity as, “the condition of being successful or thriving.” Our confident trust in God’s word and acting on that Word sets us up to thrive and experience true and lasting success.

In order for us to thrive and live in that lasting success, we have to determine to be faithful to the truth and keep Him first. FIRST is the key word! There is nothing before first. First sets the order and helps everything else to fall into place. When we are living in such a way that keeps God’s Word first (through our daily lifestyle, how we choose to respond or react in challenging situations, the words we choose to speak) it sets the atmosphere for our personal standard for living, a righteous standard. We will find He indeed has a life of prosperity for us fulfilling our every need (1 Timothy 6:17). (Charli Abihai)
