“Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. Now behold an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, ‘Arise quickly!’ And his chains fell off his hands.”

Acts 12:5-7 (NKJV)

Do not underestimate the power of prayer. Remain consistent in praying for the salvation of your loved ones. See them through the eyes of faith no matter how things may look outwardly. Many are imprisoned by sin, hopelessness and pride. We can make a difference in someone’s life if we can remain steadfast in faith and persevere.

It takes time and effort to pray for someone. It will require a tenacious spirit of faith to not waver at the face of rejection. God has given us the greatest weapon of all to overcome every obstacle. Love is the one thing that will never fail. Through our faith working through love, we shall see breakthrough!

When you see people’s lives changed and impacted with the Gospel, it is well worth the sacrifice and it pleases the heart of your Father in heaven. He longs for humanity to be reconciled back to Him. Many have turned a deaf ear to the yearning of God’s heart to see the lost saved. But God has awakened your heart to reach people with the Good News. The time is now. Arise and fulfill God’s call on your life.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Peter faced a seemingly impossible situation to get out of. He was imprisoned and heavily guarded while in chains. This is a picture of where people find themselves today. They see no way out of their destructive lifestyle. They feel hopeless when it comes to their marriage and family. They feel like giving up and throwing in the towel on life.

But when God’s people pray, they bring God’s miracle working power into manifestation. God intervenes and turns the table in favor of His people. God never gave up on us. We cannot give up on the souls that God has laid upon our heart to reach. We are His answer to a hurting generation. (Pastor Wally Matanza, Word of Life Yokohama)
