SOAR

Today’s Bible Verse

But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)

Soar

Have you ever had one of those days where you felt tired, maybe even exhausted? How about a day that turned into a week of exhaustion? And I’m not talking about physical, but emotional exhaustion. Yes, we’ve all had those heavy days, maybe even weeks. Maybe you are going through it now as you read this. Living in this world, walking alongside Jesus, does not mean that we will not face hardship; on the contrary, the Bible promises in John 16:33 that “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Over a week ago, I got a text from one of my dear friends asking me to pray for her family (specifically for her daughter) as they had been involved in a horrific car accident, and her daughter had to be airlifted to the hospital. Later in the week, our family received more difficult news: people we love and care for had gone to heaven to be with Jesus. It was an emotionally draining week in the natural, but God doesn’t call us to live based on our emotions.

Yes, it all “felt” heavy, and the week carried sadness as loved ones grieved the absence of their loved ones. As my family and I knelt to pray for all of our dear friends and families going through hardship, the Lord reminded me that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. Time and time again, His word reminds us that we can lean on Him when we are tired, when we feel like the burden is too heavy to carry. His word says to go to Him for His burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30).

Today, I encourage you to take it all to God. Call on Him; He is faithful to answer. Rest in Him; His burden is light. He will give you rest, and He will have you soar on wings like eagles; you will grow and not get weary. Allow Him to give you strength today.

By God’s grace, my friend’s daughter is miraculously now home and is on the road to a full recovery. Our dear friends who went home to be with our Lord are more alive than ever. (Sally Tarin)

Change My Story

It is important to understand that our final destination is not in this world. As we pass through earth, let’s keep in mind the great commission which is to make disciples of all the nations while we still can. And while we are here on earth and we get those moments of weariness, let’s remember that we can find rest in Him.

Today’s Declaration

My strength is renewed as I wait upon the Lord. I run and am not weary. I walk without growing faint. I soar like the eagles above the temporal circumstances of the world. My strength is in the Lord who never fails.
