Step Out and Receive Your Miracle
Evangelist Oral Roberts once said, “On the main street of the bible, miracles are always happening. That’s because they were expecting them to happen. They were looking for them to happen, and they were believing God for them to happen.”
Our Pastors Art and Kuna shared that this year will be a year where we expect the unexpected. To expect miracles to happen in our lives, and in order to seize the miracle-life that God has for us, we must break small. Miracles happen every day of our lives. It’s our responsibility to go ahead and seize it for ourselves through faith and expectation.
In this passage of scripture, the miracle happened when the priest stepped out and placed his foot on the water. Nothing happened until the priest stepped out in faith. Once he did that, a miracle happened—the Jordan river opened up. Miracles happened in the faith zone, not in our comfort zone. Although the “faith zone” can be something new or unfamiliar, that’s a place where we need to trust God. There, He can perform a miracle. Sometimes the place where we are is so familiar, it can rob us of a miracle God wants to do in and through our lives.
I encourage you today to step out in faith and obedience to God and His Word and watch miracles happen! (Walter Arguelles)
Seize the Moment
Grab a piece of paper or write in your journal the answer to these two questions:
- What are some things you need to do to get out of your comfort zone and step out in faith (ex: attending a Life Group consistently, committing to LC/DT, opening your LG, giving a bigger offering in 2021, sharing the gospel with someone, the list goes on and on)?
- What is holding you from stepping out in faith, be specific (ex: Mindset of fear, or traditions? Laziness, or shame? etc.)?
Set Your Life
Faith comes by hearing and by hearing the Word of God. The more you feed yourself with God’s Word, the stronger your faith is, and when your faith is strong, it will give you the courage to step out to act on God’s Word.
Today’s Declaration
I expect that miracles are coming to me and miracles are working through me because I choose to obey your Word even though it’s uncomfortable. I curse fear at its root in Jesus’ Name. No longer will fear hold me back from seizing the marvelous life God has for me in Jesus’ Name.
