STRENGTHENING YOURSELF IN THE LORD

02_27

“Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.”

Ephesians 6:10

The Apostle Paul encourages us to keep a very high level of courage. David, in one of the Psalms said, “He restores my soul…” (Psalm 23:3). This suggests that through fellowship with God, we are filled with His presence. He breathes the breath of life in us through prayer. After this happens, we can begin to see circumstances transformed for our good.

No matter what battles we may be facing, when we come to the Lord with our burdens, in that time of closeness with God something supernatural happens. We feel the anointing of His Spirit flooding our whole being. At the same time, when we meditate on the Cross, we can start to feel ourselves crucified together with Jesus Christ. Weakness is transformed into strength and we are filled with an inner-strength that we did not have before. We feel our energy return and we rise up ready to conquer.

It is important for us to never forget to use our spiritual armor every day. The Word of God says, “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes” (Ephesians 6:11). We should clothe ourselves with the armor of God so that we can be strengthened against the traps of the devil, because we do not struggle against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, governors of darkness of this age and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. This struggle was not declared against people; rather war broke out against demonic powers of wickedness. Paul expressed the importance of clothing ourselves with all the armor of God in order to be firm in the evil day. This is also known as the day of adversity or the day of testing.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Your mind is like a special treasure. Do not allow the enemy to bombard you with destructive and negative thoughts. These types of thoughts are the ones that weaken the inner-man and prevent you from advancing. Today, allow God to be the source of your strength and trust in Him alone. Set apart a time to spend with the Lord and you will feel how your soul is restored.
