THE DREAM OF GOD IN YOU

06_25

“After this, the Word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.”

Genesis 15:1

For many years the eyes of Abraham were on the circumstances that brought frustration to his life. However, God moved him to see beyond the limits of his physical eyes. When Abraham believed God, his spiritual eyes were opened to see what God wanted to do in his life. It was faith that permitted the patriarch to visualize and see with God’s eyes, namely, the reality of the divine promise in his life. Abraham was going to be “a father of multitudes.”

You should understand that dreams are not born when you have an abundance. Dreams are born when you are in the midst of scarcity, pain, loneliness, and it seems impossible to achieve anything. That is how it was for Abraham when he said, “O Sovereign Lord what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus? You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir” (Genesis 15:2). Maybe God said you would be prosperous, but presently all you have is debt? Perhaps the Lord said you would have a ministry of multitudes but presently you only have one cell group?

The dream that you have must be a dream to enlarge the Kingdom of God. Have you ever dreamt of a ministry? Dream today that God has called you to restore lives and families. Look at how you are able reach out your hand to the downtrodden and see them raised up. Or, look at how the drug addicts and the oppressed are freed by the power of your prayer. Dream of a cell group, dream of twelve disciples that are committed, dream of twelve cell groups that are full of life and restore thousands of families. Dream the dream of God!

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
When God gave me the dream of building one of the largest churches in the world, I hadn’t been pastoring a church for four months. For nine years I had led only small churches. I felt, in my heart, like I wanted to resign and wait for God’s direction. Four months later He spoke to me, when I just had one ‘sheep’ – my wife. So it’s fair to say that everything started when we had nothing.
