THE GOD-KIND OF HOPE

DEVOTIONAL-GRAPHIC-1600x900_6

“And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. “

Romans 5:5 (KJV)

Confidence in worldly hope is a wish built on pessimism, fear, and unbelief. Worldly hope says, “I hope it happens”, or “I hope so.” God’s will for our lives is not to be unsure. God does not want us “hoping” something will happen. The God-Kind-of-Hope is different. In the Bible, the Greek word for hope is elpis, a joyful, confident expectation of good. When we believe in the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ, we receive this kind of hope in our hearts.

Remember, hope is joyful, confident, and expectant. Hope believes that what God says will come to pass. We can be joyful when the world is depressed, confident when the world is uncertain, and expectant that something good is going to happen to us when the world is expecting something bad. His hope does not disappoint because the love of God never fails.

Beloved, have you been disappointed before? God’s hope will never disappoint you. IT’S TIME TO GET YOUR HOPES UP. Get your hopes up for 2020. Regardless of how it has looked, this is your year of being free and fearless. This is your year of receiving double honor (Isaiah 61:7). Expect something good to happen to you because God’s word says it! Look at the below verses and stand on them:

Psalm 23:6, “Surely GOODNESS and MERCY shall FOLLOW ME ALL the days of my life.”

Deuteronomy 28:2, “And all these BLESSING SHALL COME UPON YOU and OVERTAKE you…”

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Every day I make declarations and confessions based on the Word of God. The Bible tells us to decree a thing and it will be established. Below is an example of a confession of hope. My expectation is that something good is going to happen to me today and in 2020. My Father’s goodness and His mercy follow me and my family all the days of our lives. Bad things are not following me, curses are not following me, but God’s BLESSINGS are following me and overtaking me. His angels surround me and my household and keep us in all our ways. I refuse to be disappointed in any way, and instead I declare my hope is in Jesus and His promises. His favor surrounds me like a shield, and everything I set my hands to prospers. The Lord is with me; therefore, I am successful. (Jonathan Vasquez)
