THE GOD-LIFESTYLE

Today’s Bible Verse

You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence.

‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:28‬ ‭(NKJV‬‬)

The God-Lifestyle

This powerful Word is from Peter’s Sermon in Acts 2. Immediately after the infilling of the Holy Spirit, Peter spoke these very words. The Holy Spirit that was given to the disciples on the day of Pentecost is the Helper that Jesus spoke of in John 14. The Helper that will dwell with us forever.

The Holy Spirit reveals to us the God way of living. John 16:13 says “when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth” (NKJV).  So the ways of life that Peter spoke about is the life that only the Holy Spirit knows. And the only way that the Holy Spirit will guide your life is through the Word of God. The fruit of being led by the Holy Spirit is Joy in the presence of God. (Sean Wela)

Change My Story

What a beautiful promise from our Father God. This scripture reminds me of a moment in my family’s life. It was in March of 2020. My wife had gone to the doctor to check on a lump in her breast she was concerned about.

The diagnosis, breast cancer. I began to think, What’s going to happen? Is my wife going to die? What do I do? While those negative thoughts flooded my mind. I began to hear the still, small voice, the voice of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit started to remind me of what the Word of God says. Many scriptures filled my heart:

By Jesus’ stripes, Rachel was healed.

God sent His Word (Jesus) to heal Rachel from every disease, and deliver Rachel from all destruction.

With long life, God will satisfy Rachel and show her His salvation.

Every time the enemy reminded us about the diagnosis, we continued to remind ourselves of the promises of God. As Peter says, “You have made known to me the ways of life.” The Holy Spirit was showing us how to live God’s way even in the midst of challenges. Pastors Art and Kuna always encouraged us to stand on the Word of God, continue to see through the eyes of faith, and to persevere.

Even though 2020 was a hard year, it was through the Word of God that we could still have the Joy of the Lord. That Joy is available in the good times and bad times. Joy is not based on circumstances, but Joy comes when you believe God above the circumstances. The Word of God, when revealed by the Holy Spirit, helps you to remain focused. Focused faith will not be moved by natural sight, but focused faith will be moved supernaturally by what His Word says. Today Rachel is cancer-free! And living in the Joy of the Lord.

Today’s Declaration

Thank You, Holy Spirit, for always guiding my life through Your Word. You know what I need, and You know how to get it to me. Daily teach me the truth; Your Word is truth. I choose to listen and obey when You speak. I love You Holy Spirit.  I need you more and more each day! In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
