Today’s Bible Verse
Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!
John 4:35b (NKJV)
The Harvest is Ripe
We are living in a time where the fields are ripe and ready for harvest. Jesus did not tell us to hold off until the harvest is ready; He said it is ready. He tells us to lift up our eyes and look because the harvest is ripe right now! The harvest has always been ripe in every generation. Jesus said in Matthew 9:37-38 (AMPC), “Then He said to His disciples, The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. So pray to the Lord of the harvest to force out and thrust laborers into His harvest”.
Are you aware that the harvest (which is people; humanity) is waiting for you (yes you the born-again believer!) to bring the Gospel, the Good News to them. All humanity is hearing is bad news. They are hearing about doom and gloom, sin, and destruction, lies and darkness, economic shortfall, depression, worry, doubt, fear, death, chaos, and confusion every day. This is the harvest that Jesus is talking about. The harvest is waiting for us. The Church (God’s chosen people) must be involved in the Great Commission, the Great Harvest. The Great Commission is not a great suggestion. It is Jesus’ Word to the Church. Jesus’ Word to the church is GO! Jesus’ Word to the world is COME!
There is an urgency for this end time harvest and we (the Church) must not miss our opportunity. Let’s continue to pray that God will awaken us, the Church, the laborers and thrust us out to be a part of the great harvest that is at hand. Time is ticking, lives are at stake. We are anointed to make a difference. We are the light to this world. We are the salt to this earth. Let’s seize the day and seize every opportunity to preach the Gospel because this gospel is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16). (Pastor Chauncey Pang)
An Uncommon Life
Not too long ago, I was taking a leisure walk in my neighborhood. A gentleman stopped me while on my walk and said he recognized me as one of his neighbors. We began to engage in a conversation. He began to share the story of his life and the pain he was going through at the time. Right there, the door opened and I asked if I could pray with him. I began to share with him how much Jesus loved him and that Jesus is the answer to his life. I then asked if he would like to receive Jesus as His Lord and Savior. He said yes! He was born-again that day. We followed up with each other and he attended church and connected with a Life Group and he is still connected; he is now a disciple of Christ. This is the harvest Jesus is talking about, and many of them are right around us.
Today’s Declaration
Father, I thank You that I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I thank You that You grant me boldness to preach the gospel to others. Today, I pray that You will open doors for me to bring Jesus to broken humanity. Give me a greater desire and a deeper compassion for lost souls. I am committed to win souls and make disciples for Your Kingdom.
