THE HEART REGULATES THE HANDS

So here’s what I think: The best thing you can do right now is to finish what you started last year and not let those good intentions grow stale. Your heart’s been in the right place all along. You’ve got what it takes to finish it up, so go to it. Once the commitment is clear, you do what you can, not what you can’t. The heart regulates the hands.

2 Corinthians 8:10-12 (TMB)

Good intentions grow stale when our hearts are no longer engaged in what we are doing. It’s one of the main reasons we don’t finish what we start. If there is something Jesus has asked you to do that you just can’t seem to get around to doing, check your heart. Sometimes, it’s not a question of our ability to get it done but our willingness to do so. As Paul said, “Once the commitment is clear, you do what you can […]” When you decide to obey the Lord, you’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish.
