The Lord is My Shepherd

Hey Kids!

Did you know that you are like a sheep? Baaaa! Baaaa!

Every sheep needs a shepherd!  A shepherd provides all that you need.  He gives you only what is good for you.  He loves and cares for you.  He leads you in the right way to go in your life.  He’s with you and helps you even in the most hardest times!  So, you don’t have to be afraid.  Do you know the name of your shepherd?  His name is Jesus!  Yes, Jesus!!!  Wow!  We have the BEST and COOLEST shepherd in the whole wide world!

If you follow and obey Jesus you will keep yourself out of trouble.  You might be thinking, “How do I obey Him when I can’t see Him?”  Well, Jesus gave you His Word in the Bible to speak to you and instruct you.  When we obey His Word, we are kept safe.  

When we go on our own way and do our own thing we go in the wrong direction and get lost.  But, even when we make mistakes and get lost, our Shepherd, Jesus is so good and loving that he will search for us and bring us back home safely.  

Pledge of Honor

I am a hero that obeys God’s Word. Surely God’s goodness and love will be with me all my life. And I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

The Lord is my shepherd.
    I have everything I need.
He gives me rest in green pastures.
    He leads me to calm water.
He gives me new strength.
For the good of his name,
    he leads me on paths that are right.
Even if I walk
    through a very dark valley,
I will not be afraid
    because you are with me.
Your rod and your shepherd’s staff comfort me.

You prepare a meal for me
    in front of my enemies.
You pour oil of blessing on my head.^[a]
    You give me more than I can hold.
Surely your goodness and love will be with me
    all my life.
And I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
