THE MOST POWERFUL PROPHET IN THE BIBLE

“You shall also decide and decree a thing, and it shall be established for you…”

Job 22:28

I remember as a young believer how excited I would get whenever a famous preacher, or a known prophet would come to visit our church. I would make sure I arrived extra early with hopes of getting a good seat and believing that the minister would prophecy over me. “God please speak to me tonight,” was my silent, secret prayer, and I know many people still pray like this whenever a known prophet comes to town.

However, as years passed, God gave me a revelation and showed me who is the most powerful prophet in my life. That prophet is found in Job 22:28, “You shall also decide and decree a thing, and it shall be established for you…” The greatest prophet in my life is ME, and the greatest prophet in your life is YOU! Something supernatural happens when we decide to believe God’s promises in our hearts and declare them with our mouths. We become an echo of heaven and with our words we form our world. To prophecy, by definition is to “speak forth of the mind and counsel of God” and that’s exactly what we do when we align our minds and our speech with His Word. I can prove it to you. Have you ever been around someone that is constantly speaking doubt, unbelief, drama, and trauma? Their words charge the atmosphere with negativity and no one wants to be around them. Because negativity begets negativity. But when we are around people that speak life, encouraging words, whose speech is filled with hope, things begin to change.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
The Apostle Paul says that, “…when someone prophesies, he speaks to encourage people, to build them up, and to bring them comfort” (1 Corinthians 14:3). When you declare what God says about you, the holy spirit begins to define a picture inside of you and your faith develops and grows. Paul also told Timothy to, “…use the prophecies as weapons!” (1 Timothy 1:19). Use every word God has ever spoken over you to dethrone the enemy, the world and the flesh. Be on the offense and start your day prophesying over yourself, your family, your health, your finances, your life. Your words are powerful, they can bring either death or life; you choose by the words that you speak. (Pastor Miguel Montano, Word of Life Santa Barbara)
