“Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to Me. I will refresh your life, for I am your Oasis. Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.”

Have you ever felt weary or tired? Have you ever carried something in your heart that brought about a spirit of heaviness? Whether it be in your thoughts, or a situation or circumstance, it really can wear you down.
Well, there is an answer! And His name is Jesus! Jesus is calling us to come to the Oasis, to come to Him (in that secret place). An oasis is a flourishing place full of life, fresh water and abundance, right in the middle of a desert or wilderness. It is a place of refuge where we can find relief and peace and rest. It has even been described as a pleasant change from what is usual or annoying or difficult.
Jesus is calling us to get away with Him so He can recover our lives. He wants to refresh us so we can flourish right where we are at, no matter what we are going through. The KEY is joining our lives with His so we can discover through the Holy Spirit, His love, peace, mercy and grace. He wants us to walk with Him, and work with Him, so we can learn His ways to live free and light.
We all have busy, productive lives. We have family, children, our church and ministry, Life Group, jobs and the list goes on. We NEED that time with the Lord. We NEED the OASIS. There is a lot required of us but if we come to the Oasis, and refresh ourselves in Him, Jesus says, “It will be pleasant and easy to bear.”
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Imagine, you are on this long journey. IMAGINE you are in the desert. In a DRY place. You’ve been on this journey alone, for quite some time now. You are hungry and thirsty and in much need of rest. You don’t even know how you got here. You are ready to give up. But you look up, and right in the middle of this dry place you see what looks like Paradise. You see green trees and foliage. Is it a mirage? No, it’s the Oasis. You come closer and you see water flowing freely and liberally everywhere. And then you see Jesus. And He says to you, “Come, drink from My waters. Eat from My garden. rest in My shade. Let’s walk and talk together. Let Me help you. Let Me teach you. Let Me guide you and direct you where to go and what to do, so you will always know where to find Me.”
Congratulations! You have just spent time with Jesus. Do you want to flourish in every area of your life like an oasis? It starts here. Jesus is patiently and lovingly waiting just for you. (Elder Veronica Acevedo)
