“And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”

Have you ever felt that what you’re in the midst of is never going to end? Or that this season seems forever? Seasons are not forever yet for the Israelites it seemed as such. Their journey of 11 days turned into a season of testing for 40 years wandering the wilderness in pursuit of the Promise Land.
The Israelites found themselves in a season of “uncertainty”. They allowed fear, complaining, emotions, pride and other things to grab ahold of their heart, focus and attention. In this season, their hearts were tested and tried. As the days and years passed, their hearts grew harder.
All the while, God was preparing and igniting a young man named Joshua for the next season, the season of breakthrough, conquest, victory and of the Promise. Moses called him and told him: “And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you.” Many times, in our seasons, we might lose sight of the Promise, of the time we have now to grow, to be molded, to be shaped and strengthened to persevere. Just like Joshua, The Lord is going before us! He is leading us through the wilderness and times of uncertainty. Yet, like Joshua, we need to stand firm that the Lord is with us. He will not leave us or forsake us. Therefore, silence fear and know that HE IS LEADING US AND GOING BEFORE US!
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
There are many times we complicate things and our emotions and feelings become louder than the Truth of God’s Word. In this season, what are we fixing our eyes on? What are we putting our trust in? What are we allowing to grab our hearts and focus? Often times, we want the Holy Spirit to come with us as we take the lead but in this verse we see that it’s important for us to let the Holy Spirit take the lead and we follow Him, as He is the One who goes before us!
This has been a Promise I’ve had to hold on to. To be fully assured that in every season He is with me. That in this time, He is going before me. Therefore. I challenge each of us to embrace this Promise. This is our time to fix our eyes on Him. This is the time we are called to hold on to His Promises. He is taking us from where we are to the land He has called us to. He is the one who is silencing fear and encouraging us with each step, each day, each moment that He is with us. Let’s decide today, with confidence that He is the One who goes before us!! (Nicole Silva)
