“But you have an anointing from the Holy One [you have been set apart, specially gifted and prepared by the Holy Spirit], and all of you know [the truth because He teaches us, illuminates our minds, and guards us from error].”
1 John 2:20 (AMP)
Hallelujah! What an inspiring regenerative truth to know that when we were born again the Holy Spirit came into our hearts and flooded us with the power of God’s Spirit. Imagine this Spirit is the same Spirit that raised Christ Jesus from the dead and now lives on the inside of us. That means in this life, we have been given so much authority, dominion and power. Luke 10:19 (NLT) says, “Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy…”
We have all of these Kingdom promises and provisions written in the Bible! Have you ever wondered, after being born again and wanting to do your very best to please God, and live as you believe a Christian should, why you may still be struggling with sickness, lack in your finances and set-backs that keep you from moving forward? Are you frequently experiencing all kinds of chaos with your family and co-workers at your job?
As we know there could be many reasons why things may not be going as you hoped it would. However, take heed to Ephesians 6:12 (TPT) that says, “Your hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings, but with the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms. They are a powerful class of demon-gods and evil spirits that hold this dark world in bondage.”
Satan, our enemy, wears masks and will do whatever it takes to stop us from fulfilling our God-given destiny. This battle we’re engaged in is a very fierce one and we must rise up and FIGHT! We as first-class soldiers of the Lord must obtain fresh instructions through the B-I-B-L-E to wage war against the forces of darkness.
God has provided tested and tried ammunition, via the Bible, that works. Someone once said a statement that is so true regarding the Bible. The BIBLE is our:

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
A few years into my marriage, though I knew I was blessed with such a strong and humble mighty man of valor, I had thoughts of “What did I get myself into?” The man I married was not as perfect as I needed or expected him to be. In the simple, daily affairs of life, I found myself being touchy and irritable when responding to my husband. I was exhibiting behaviors of the self-confident fool described in the book of Proverbs. I was like a ticking atomic bomb ready to go off. I was so full of pride and it was ugly. I was very deceived, and did not realize that in this season of my life, the very root system of my heart was being revealed.
When I began to examine and think back, I recalled that the divorce of my parents, at the age of eight-years-old, resulted in unresolved hurts. These hurts especially manifested in feelings of anger and rejection. I resented anyone appearing to try to control me. I refused to allow them to come near me. I also despised anyone appearing to be better than me. I most definitely did not know what love looked like or how to accept and demonstrate it. More importantly, I did not know that Satan was after my marriage and family, and that I had unknowingly allowed him to enter through the portal of my weaknesses.
Needless to say, I was on an emotional roller coaster and the first few years of marriage was tough for me (my husband was doing well because he had the revelation about what was really going on). My breakthrough began when I decided to attend a weekend Encounter and also accepted all the provisions given by my pastors (discipleship classes, prayer meetings, etc). I also began reading books and scriptures about marriage and family.
This is where I began to learn how to go back to the start. I learned about the importance of renewing my way of thinking in order for me to receive the revelation of God’s love for me. I realized my life was not about me, myself and I; but about others. I was given an anointing and did not need to do life in my own strength. This was one of the first scriptures that I spoke over my life that to this day still gives me perspective and hope: “For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13, AMP).
Pastor Kuna also taught us to use John 10:10 as the “dividing line” that indicated if the enemy was trying to slither in. Jesus as the great helper in our time of need also informed us that the thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. However, He came so that we may have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of (John 10:10 MSG).
By the grace of God, I accepted working out my salvation with the Holy Spirit. I began experiencing breakthroughs upon breakthroughs. I took off my girly outfits and traded it in for the full armor of God (Ephesians 6: 13 – 17). Back then, whenever our pastors scheduled a prayer meeting, my family and I attended. We never missed a session on Saturdays at 5:30am. I noticed that my prayer life accelerated when I was around my pastors, the leadership and those that knew how to tackle the spiritual forces. It was as if their prayers rubbed off on me. I began to pray with authority and with a militant spirit.
In closing, my most recent revelation is the importance to DWELL in that Secret Place with God. For me, the meaning of DWELL means to remain, to live under, and be fixed and placed securely in that realm of His presence. I need to keep watch on my thoughts, not allowing them to drift from the Word; but DWELL, step by step, moment by moment to bring me to that abiding place, in His safety.
If you would, imagine a rainy day with you under an umbrella. As long as you dwell, remain under, fixed under that umbrella, you will remain dry. It is that same way with God. He who DWELLS in the secret place of the Most-High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalms 91:1).
It sounds so simple to dwell. It requires a discipline, and awareness. One needs to also be sensitive that when God moves, we must move with Him. I thank God, He gave us His Spirit so that we may DWELL in Him, then everything we need pertaining to life and our calling will be experienced. (Pastor Darlene Tsuha)
