MEMORY VERSE
“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.” (Genesis 12:2 NIV)

Hey Kids! This month we have two, yes two superheroes! Their names are Abraham and Sarah! God gave Abraham a powerful and great promise. It was huge!! God told Abraham that He will make him into a great nation! Did you know that our nation is the United States of America? So just imagine, God promised Abraham to make him into something huge like our nation of 326 million people!!! Wowza!!!

When God gave him this gigantic promise, it looked impossible. How would Abraham be made into a great nation when he had zero children!!! Yes, you heard right, a big zero. But God gave Abraham directions in what he needed to do to have this huge promise! And guess what, Abraham trusted God so much that he did not question the direction that God gave him. He simply followed and obeyed.

Hey, hey, hey kids!!! Did you notice that all our superheroes, Abraham, Noah, Esther, Daniel, Joseph, and the greatest superhero of them all, Jesus, had something in common? Yell it out if you know it, 1, 2, 3…, “THEY OBEYED!” They became superheroes because they obeyed God. And because of their obedience they all received God’s promises for themselves and their family.

Getting back to Abraham…he was 100 years old and his wife Sara was 90 years old. They both could in no way have children. They believed God’s promises even when it looked impossible and no matter how long it took, they never quit believing God could make it happen. And they strengthen themselves by praising God.

Do you have a promise from God that you have been believing for? Let’s start with finding God’s promises for you. Here are some promises you can believe for you and your family. Pick at least 1 or 2 and place it in your journal or make a “Promise Book” like we saw in our Kidz Life Live service. If you missed it, you can watch is right here.

Genesis 12:2 (NIV), “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.”

Psalm 37:4 (ESV), “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

Ephesians 6:1-3, “Honor your father and mother then everything will be well with you, and you will have a long life on the earth.”

2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and a self-control.”

Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

Philippians 4:19, “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

Psalm 91:14 (GW), “Because you love me, I will rescue you. I will protect you because you know my name.”

Now that you have picked some of God’s promises for you, make sure you write it out in your journal or your Blessing Book. Then do these things every day at least 2 times a day:

1. Believe God’s Promise for you. Don’t question it or Doubt it will happen.

2. See (visualize) God’s Promise happening in your life. Draw or cut out pictures and place it where you can see it every day. This will remind you of God’s promise.

3. Say God’s Promise out loud everyday

4. Never quit believing God’s Promise will happen in your life.

5. Praise God all the time for His Promise to you.

You become a hero when you receive a promise from God.

PLEDGE OF HONOR
“I believe God’s promises are for me and I know God will make all His promises happen in my life.”

BIBLE READING
Genesis 12:1-4

The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your
father’s household to the land I will show you.
“I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.”

So Abram went, as the LORD had told him.
