THE RESTING PLACE

Today’s Bible Verse

Then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of his love will become the very source and root of your life.

Ephesians‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭(TPT)

The Resting Place

When was the last time you rested? Truly rested? Often when people think of resting, they think it means stopping what you’re doing, taking a break, being out of touch, or things of that nature. Yet, as Ephesians 3:17 reveals, true rest comes as we allow the resting place of His love to be our very source and root of our life. The Hebrew word selah means “to pause in His Presence.” In addition to that, it also means to be “recharged in His presence.” This is what we receive as we draw from Him: His presence and His love. This brings forth transformation in our life.

The rest we need and have access to as believers leads us to be secure in the Lord, to trust Him in all we do. When we open our hearts to a life of faith in Him, we experience this deep love that brings transformation. The love of God within us leads us to be secure in Him. In that security, there is a depth of trust in who He is in our lives. Even in the most challenging of days, seasons, testings, and trials, we will find rest in the life of Christ. This brings us confidence, peace, and a greater expectation in God because we know how much He loves us. The love of God in us is all we need. Resting in God’s love in us brings transformation and leads us to be all we are called to be in Him. (Pastor Nicole Silva)

An Uncommon Life

Have you opened your heart to the love of God? Many say, “Of course I love God!” Yet, their lives don’t reflect a life of Christ that flows deeply in and through them. Today, let’s allow God’s love to go into the depths of our hearts and ignite a life of faith where we constantly find our rest. Let’s rest in His love today and allow His love to bring us strength and encouragement. In His love, we find the source and root of our lives to be transformed from the inside out.
