Traditions Limit the Miraculous
Many walls can keep a believer from Seizing the miraculous life. The miraculous life is as Pastor Art says, the Zoe life, the God Life known through the Word of God. Traditions distract us from living the God Life. Traditions keep us tied to the past. It’s our old way of thinking, old way of speaking, and old way of living. Traditions keep us from seizing the best life God has for us. It is the traditions we have grown up with, in our families and culture, that keep us from the God Life. Traditions limit the breakthrough in your personal life, your marriage, your family, and your ministry. Tradition says, “This is how it’s always been; I don’t want to change.” Traditions take us away from the truth of God’s Word and get us to live an unfruitful life.
As a youth, my family would go to church every Sunday, not really applying in our lives the Word of God the Pastor would minister. We thought we were good with just attending church. I would never allow the Word of God to change and transform me. I thought I could go to church on Sunday and live however I wanted to Monday through Saturday, thinking that it was ok. That kind of traditions and mindsets keep the Word of God from making a difference in your life.
Mark 7:13 (NKJV) says that we can make the Word of God of no effect through our traditions. Traditions can keep the power of God’s Word from having any effect on our lives. God wants us to be free from all that has hindered us from living the God Life.
1 Peter 1:18-19 (AMPC) says, “You must know (recognize) that you were redeemed (ransomed) from the useless (fruitless) way of living inherited by tradition from [your] forefathers, not with corruptible things [such as] silver and gold, But [you were purchased] with the precious blood of Christ (the Messiah), like that of a [sacrificial] lamb without blemish or spot.”
Let the Holy Spirit help you break away from traditions and Seize the God Life He has for you. (Sean Wela)

Today’s Declaration
Today, I refuse to let the traditions of my family or culture rule my life. I choose to live according to what God says about me. I am set free of the bondage of tradition; tradition has no power over me in Jesus’ Name.
