TRANSFORM DON’T CONFORM

Today’s Bible Verse

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Romans 12:2 (NIV)

Transform Don’t Conform

Now more than ever, Christians must understand we need to live transformed (changed) lives. We live in a world controlled by an enemy who is constantly trying to conform and influence our minds to think destructive, ungodly thoughts. The mindset we possess directs our destiny. This is why the enemy wants to conform and warp every person’s mind. He is after the destiny of our lives, our families, and our nation. In Romans 12:2, God gives us the answer to the enemy’s attack. He says to be transformed (changed) in our mind so that our destiny will be protected by God.

As Christians, we can easily believe we’re above influences and temptations because we go to Church, and we read our Bibles. Transformation, however, is not solely about reading your Bible; it is about change. The Lord wants us to live lives of continual change from our old sin nature, to our new nature in Christ. Second Corinthians 10:5 helps us walk out this change. It says we must “take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” It’s a deliberate process of replacing every tempting and corrupt thought with the word of God. Every thought means every thought.

A single ungodly thought will stifle and hinder Godly growth. Hosea 4:6 explains that a mind that lacks God’s knowledge is led to destruction. This is how Christians can get stuck and frustrated. Because we don’t take captive every wicked thought, we stop living a transformed life; we allow ungodly thoughts to remain, and we wonder why things start to break down. God’s plan is not destruction; it is that his people will live and have victory in everything.

This is why we must uproot every thought that is wicked, warped, and evil. Pride, fear, worry, lust, sexual immorality, disobedience, unforgiveness, homosexuality, drunkenness, deception, idolatry, bitterness, shame, guilt, etc. These are all warped, ungodly mindsets designed to conform us to a destructive worldly lifestyle and steal our future.

This is why we must rise up as the Church and have a passion to be transformed by God’s Word. Our destiny is to raise up a generation that loves the Lord, lives for righteousness, and renounces the pleasure of sin. The key ingredients for us are humbleness and surrender. We must eradicate pride and control and allow our Pastors and leaders to help us uncover the mindsets that hold us back. Let’s humble ourselves and allow the transformation of our minds, so we can live surrendered lives, have strong marriages, build Godly families, grow a magnificent powerful church, and influence the world for Jesus! And God will get all the glory! (Pastor Branson Silva)

Seize the Moment

A transformed mind will grow, flourish, and achieve the God purpose. We cannot allow the enemy to steal our God purpose and the God purpose of our generation. Have you ever found yourself stagnant and unable to conquer a problem? I encourage you to remove the thought/mindset in prayer that has hindered your spiritual growth, so you can move forward in your God purpose!

Set Your Life

My stagnation as a Christian stopped when I allowed someone to walk with me and help me live a transformed life. I joined a life group, and the years of going round and round came to an end. My challenge for every person reading this is to join our church’s vision by getting into a life group and allowing someone to help you live transformed! You can message us on Instagram, email us, or call us to get plugged in!

Today’s Declaration

Today, I remove every thought that is okay with stagnation and defeat. I humble myself, Lord, and I repent if I’ve been okay with not growing. I desire victory and purpose. I cast down every thought that has plagued my mind in any way and has separated me from God’s love, peace, and purpose. Renew my mind Lord and help me to truly live a transformed life and to have a passion to influence my generation!
