Today’s Bible Verse
For the [true] love of God is this: that we habitually keep His commandments and remain focused on His precepts. And His commandments and His precepts are not difficult [to obey]. For everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God].
1 John 5:3-4 (AMP)
Uncommon = Faith
Often, I’ve heard this question: “How would you describe faith?” The Bible talks about what faith is. From Hebrews chapter 11, to the many examples in the Bible of people’s faith, simply put, faith can be described as, “total and complete belief and trust in GOD, Heavenly Father, Son (the Word) and Holy Spirit.” Faith is void of any emotions or feelings; faith doesn’t react to offense; rather, faith trusts in God’s love. Faith is void of any circumstance; faith doesn’t pull back in fear when a bad report is given; faith rises up and declares the promises that God has already provided. Faith is total and complete awareness of GOD (His love, the Word, and the Holy Spirit) in us.
Faith grows as we know God. God is known through love. “No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us” (1 John 4:12). The abundant life God has promised us is manifested through love. We can’t allow or permit any thoughts or feelings that compromise the truth. Any and every negative thought or argument must be cast down! We must take authority over anything that speaks contrary to God’s Word.
The Bible shares with us, if someone is born again (receives Jesus in their heart) the LIFE of GOD, which is the SPIRIT of GOD, dwells in them; and if we keep His commandments we continually abide in Him, and He abides in us (see 1 John 3:24). “And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another as He gave us commandment” (1 John 3:23). For faith to be effective in our lives, we must live in LOVE. GOD is LOVE! Living in faith is living in the fullness of love! (Rachel Wela)
An Uncommon Life
Faith in God must be the standard of our lives. If we live by our feelings, or what we see right in front of us, we will be just like the double-minded man the Bible speaks about in the book of James: “For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord” (James 1:8). Faith isn’t just for believing the promises, faith also obeys and lives according to the Word. We must remain consistent in faith, and choose to live aware of the life of God in you. Doubt and disbelief in God’s Word is sin.
There’s a disciple in my network who had a family member going through a physical challenge. By faith, she stood on the truth of the Word concerning her family member’s healing. Regardless of what it looked like in the natural (test results and vital signs) she continued declaring what the Word of God says concerning healing. Although fear tried to enter her heart by what things looked like in the natural, she deliberately renounced fear, and confidently stood on the promise of healing for that family member. Today, that family member is strong and healthy, walking in the fullness of God’s love! Praise God for His faithfulness!
Today’s Declaration
I declare that faith in God is the standard of my life! My life is uncommon because I live by faith! I am confident and fully assured of God’s love; therefore, I fully believe and obey the Word in Jesus’ Name! Amen.
