“Love never fails…”

1 Corinthians 13:8

God’s unfailing love! What a great reminder of our freedom brought forth only by Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection! A freedom and liberty that is the right for every believer to celebrate. You see, the 4th of July, our freedom in Christ and His unfailing love remind us all of the spiritual war Jesus Himself came to fight and win in order to redeem humanity from the kingdom of satan. Paul was reminding every Christian to never forget to celebrate the reality of our freedom when he wrote:

“Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of THE SON OF HIS LOVE, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1:12-14).

God’s unfailing love is “the flag” we raise against any and all circumstances and challenges we face in life. Yet, it’s not enough to just “know about” God’s unfailing love. We must “believe in the love” that God has for us! The key to our victories and conquests is activating our faith in His love. It’s what makes the difference in turning around “the impossible”, “the unthinkable”, “the insurmountable” and “the unimaginable” to be in our favor. John said it like this:

“We have KNOWN and BELIEVED THE LOVE that God has for us. GOD IS LOVE, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him” (1 John 4:16).

FAITH IN THE LOVE OF GOD, the unfailing love of GOD! The reason God’s love is unfailing is because GOD IS LOVE! It’s not a feeling, a thing, a man-made concept, or an ideology. It’s a Person. God Himself! The love of God is our key to walking in THE REALM OF THE MIRACULOUS.

When you receive a revelation of the love of God, you have insight into something that does not fail. Think about that. In this world where nothing is failure proof, you’ve been given complete access to God’s love. Love is the cardinal law of God, and it NEVER FAILS. NEVER! Put God’s love into operation and you will succeed.

It is a must that you learn how to operate in God’s love. To do that requires FAITH. You have to develop your faith in His love to the point that it, His love, governs your thinking, your speech and your actions. You must have your mind so renewed that you function according to God’s love rather than the methods and systems of the world. The world’s system and ideas are accepted as the norm, but they are not the norm. God’s Word is the norm and the standard of life we are to maintain. Man was created to function on God’s level. Paul said:

“For there are who MANY WHO LIVE BY DIFFERENT STANDARDS. As I’ve warned you many times (I weep as I write these words), they are enemies of the cross of the Anointed One…” (Philippians 3:18 TPT).

Solomon also encouraged us when he wrote, “The Lord expects you to be fair in EVERY business deal, HE IS THE ONE WHO SETS THE STANDARD of RIGHTEOUSNESS” (Proverbs 16:11 TPT).

When you make the decision to live and walk in the love of God, you’ve also made the decision to walk in the realm of the miraculous. There are things available to us by walking in the love of God that are not available any other way. Every problem that has ever defeated anyone in the Body of Christ was a result of not walking in the love of God. God, His Word, His Spirit and His Name work perfectly in every situation. They are successful in all realms.

In this day and hour, God is raising up a new breed of people. We, as God’s people, are taking our rightful position. This new breed of people is dedicating themselves to God and to renewing their minds with His Word. They are setting themselves apart from the carnal ways of the world and committing themselves to know, believe and walk in the love of God. Because this new breed is choosing to HAVE FAITH IN THE LOVE OF GOD…God Himself surrounds them by His love…and they have no other option but to WALK IN THE REALM OF THE MIRACULOUS.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
The unfailing love of God is “the flag “we all ought to remember and raise high. It’s “the victory sign” of every Christian. Jesus fought and paid an incalculable price for our freedom. When the revelation of this dawns in our hearts, I imagine it could be likened to the awakening that Francis Scott Key had when he was awakened on a that early morning, after a fierce battle, where he thought all was lost. His awakening that morning is why he wrote “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

This song, “The Star-Spangled Banner”, is the national anthem of the United States. It has come to represent not only the American flag, but it’s also a symbol of freedom and liberty for many. It was born out of what is now known as the War of 1812, a war between Britain and the United States (which was just coming into being at the time). This war is often referred to as the “Second War of Independence.”

Major George Armistead, the commander of Fort McHenry in Baltimore, knew that the region would be a key target for the British. He decided that he wanted a flag so big that, “the British would have no trouble seeing it from a distance.” Armistead sent for a flag to be made, nine meters in height and thirteen meters in length.

Shortly before the attack on Baltimore, Francis Scott Key, a young American lawyer, was placed under guard by the British, along with two others. They were first detained aboard the H.M.S. Surprise before being moved to their own boat. They were forced to wait out the battle behind the British fleet. In confinement, Key could hear the sound of war and feel the impact of the cannonballs.

The battle continued throughout the night. Able to distinguish between the sounds of the weaponry, the young man was certain that the British would end up defeating the Americans. He stayed awake throughout the entirety of the fierce battle. After 25 hours of fighting and shelling, daylight came at last. Francis Scott Key leaned out of the boat’s window and, there in the distance, he saw that great flag! Though slightly tattered, it was flying high over the fort as a sign of victory for the United States. With tears in his eyes, he wrote the words of the song that is still a symbol of freedom and liberty for Americans today.

The flag became a sign of victory for a nation that was still very much in its infancy, a nation that has today become a symbol of strength around the world. Remember God’s unfailing love as your flag and guaranteed victory! (Pastor Art Sepulveda)
