WORDS KILL, WORDS GIVE LIFE

Today’s Bible Verse

Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose.

Proverbs‬ ‭18:21‬ ‭(MSG)

Words Kill, Words Give Life

You can tell a whole lot about what’s in a person’s heart and mind, or even what they’re currently conquering just by listening to the words they speak and how they speak them. By the Holy Spirit we are able to discern what condition a person’s heart is in. By the Holy Spirit we are able to hear the arguments that someone maybe be contending with, or has been entertaining in their minds, whether they speak it out loud or not.

These “words” are not just limited to curse words, no, it’s also the arguments, the doubt, the fear, the limiting mindsets, and everything else that is contrary to the Word of God that comes out of their mouths. You can hear this in the excuses they make.

This verse in Proverbs 18:21, states it very clear: “Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—YOU choose.” In the NKJV it reads, “Death and Life are in the POWER of the tongue, and those who love it (the words they speak) WILL eat its fruit.”

Let’s take a moment and ask ourselves what kind of fruit are we eating? Are we eating good, juicy, plump, delicious fruit, fruit that you can start to think of and your mouth begins to water? What kind of words are you speaking? Are those words producing good? Or are we eating overripe, spoiled, rotten, stink, sour fruit that attracts flies!? Are they words that are straight up vomit and excuses? YOU CHOOSE…what changes do you have to make to change the outcome of the fruit regarding yourself (it starts with us first, if we change then everything else will change), family, kids, husband, wife, ministry, work, coworkers, finances, dreams, goals, finances, etc. If you know nothing good is going to come out of your mouth just pray in your heavenly language!!! An Uncommon Life

Pastor Kuna ministers to us about four (4) points that should always be applied over every area of our lives…even our words!!!

  1. Plead the Blood of Jesus. Take the time to plead the Blood of Jesus over your tongue, your mouth, and your words!
  2. Speak the Word of God. Speak the Word over your tongue and words. Pastor Kuna tells us, “Let the Word of God be final authority and speak it, faith is in our hearts and in our mouths.” Psalm 141:3, “Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips.” Isaiah 50:4, “…the Lord God has given Me the tongue of a disciple and of one who is taught, that I should know how to speak a word in season…” Ephesians 4:29, “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.” Proverbs 13:3, “Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life…”
  3. See through the eyes of faith. “[Faith] develops, based on applying the Blood and speaking the Word that leads us to see. It helps by getting over ourselves” (Pastor Kuna). SEE yourself as God sees you.
  4. Persevere. In faith and by faith persevere, continue in the course of action even in the face of difficulty, failure or opposition. If you slip up humble yourself, repent, ask for forgiveness, renounce those words, thoughts, arguments and move forward, tell your leader!!! Don’t allow guilt or condemnation or your feels get in the way…PERSEVERE, keep going, PRESS FORWARD!

The Holy Spirit is preparing us, continue to be open and surrendered, avail ourselves so we can be ready to where He needs us to be, especially with our words!

Today’s Declaration

Father, I humble myself before You and repent for my foolishness. Forgive me for not speaking words of life in every area of my life! Forgive me for allowing the arguments and circumstances to speak through my lips. Today, I renounce every word that I have spoken that is contrary to Your Word over every area of my life, and I declare it shall not bear any fruit! I CHOOSE to speak LIFE! I shall be mindful of every word that proceeds out of my lips and shall apply the Blood, speak Your Word, see by faith and persevere by Your Spirit!!! I receive Your grace. I shall eat the good fruit of the land that is coming in Jesus’ Name! Amen!
